Description
Tignanello 2022 is a vintage that has already made a lot of waves, confirming it as one of the absolute benchmarks for those who love Super Tuscans. If your fig and almond cantucci were looking for a high-end evening companion (although Tignanello usually prefers a nice steak), here’s what you need to know about this bottle.
🍷 The Profile of the 2022 Vintage.
The 2022 vintage in Tuscany was characterized by a hot and dry summer, but the August rains and the hilly location of Tenuta Tignanello’s vineyards made it possible to maintain surprising freshness.
-
Composition: The classic Antinori blend of about 78% Sangiovese, 18% Cabernet Sauvignon and 4% Cabernet Franc.
-
Nose: It is an explosion of ripe cherry, pomegranate and floral notes of violets, with balsamic undertones, vanilla and a touch of white pepper.
-
Palate: Compared to the power of the 2020 or the academic balance of the 2021, the 2022 is described as silky and vibrant. It has very polished tannins and a minerality (given by the limestone soil) that makes the sip long and never heavy.

💡 Tips for Service.
-
Aging potential: You can drink it now if you love the crisp fruit, but it will be at its best between 2028 and 2045.
-
Temperature: Serve it at about 18°C.
-
Decanter: If you decide to uncork it this year, give it at least 1-2 hours of oxygenation to allow the bouquet to fully open.
