Aglione sauce

Description

Sugo all’Aglione is the Val di Chiana‘s signature condiment, a simple but extraordinarily aromatic tomato sauce based on a unique ingredient: theVal di Chiana Aglione. It is not a common “larger” garlic, but a distinct botanical variety(Allium ampeloprasum var. holmense):

• Size: Bulbs can exceed 500-800 grams.

• Taste: It is much milder and sweeter than traditional garlic.

• Digestibility: It is called the “kissing garlic” because, being allicin-free, it leaves no unpleasant odor in the breath and is extremely digestible.
