Description
Castello di Verrazzano Chianti Classico Riserva 2021
Produced in the heart of the Chianti Classico region in Greve in Chianti, the Castello di Verrazzano Chianti Classico Riserva 2021 is a refined expression of traditional Tuscan winemaking. Crafted from 95% Sangiovese and 5% complementary estate-grown red varieties, the wine is aged for a minimum of 24 months in oak casks followed by at least 6 months of bottle refinement, resulting in remarkable complexity, elegance, and aging potential.
In the glass, it displays a brilliant ruby-red color with subtle garnet reflections. The bouquet is intense and sophisticated, revealing aromas of ripe cherry, blackberry, and red berries layered with notes of tobacco, black pepper, sweet spice, and delicate oak. With further aeration, the wine develops additional nuances of leather, balsamic herbs, and mineral undertones, adding depth and character.
On the palate, it is rich, full-bodied, and beautifully balanced. Fine-grained tannins are seamlessly integrated with vibrant acidity, creating a harmonious structure that supports the wine’s concentrated fruit profile. The finish is long and persistent, marked by lingering notes of red fruits, spice, tobacco, and subtle earthy complexity.
A classic Chianti Classico Riserva that perfectly captures the elegance and authenticity of the Verrazzano estate, while offering excellent cellaring potential for 10 years or more.
Food Pairing: Grilled red meats, roasted game, braised dishes, Florentine steak, and aged cheeses.
