Description
Amarone della Valpolicella Classico DOCG Tommasi is one of the most iconic expressions of Valpolicella and a benchmark of Veneto’s winemaking tradition. Produced by the historic Tommasi family exclusively from carefully selected grapes grown in the prestigious La Groletta and Conca d’Oro vineyards, this Amarone is crafted through a meticulous drying process lasting approximately three months, followed by three years of aging in large Slavonian oak casks.
In the glass, it displays a deep ruby-red color with garnet highlights. The bouquet is rich and complex, revealing layers of black cherry, ripe plum, dried berries, cherry preserve, cocoa, licorice, black pepper, tobacco, and delicate hints of coffee and sweet spices. On the palate, it is full-bodied, velvety, and remarkably elegant, with perfectly integrated tannins and an exceptional balance between richness, freshness, and concentration. The finish is long and persistent, leaving refined notes of dark fruit, spice, and dark chocolate.
Its harmonious combination of power and elegance makes this Amarone an outstanding companion to braised meats, game, roasted red meats, aged cheeses, and sophisticated Italian cuisine. It is also an excellent meditation wine, ideal for special occasions and long-term cellaring.
