Description
The Castello di Verrazzano Vin Santo del Chianti Classico DOC 2018 is a refined dessert and meditation wine that embodies one of Tuscany’s oldest and most fascinating winemaking traditions. Produced in the historic Chianti Classico area, it is made from carefully selected grapes traditionally dried after harvest, allowing the fruit to naturally concentrate its sugars, aromas and complexity.
In the glass, it displays an elegant and luminous golden-amber colour. The bouquet is rich and enveloping, revealing enticing aromas of dried fruit, dried apricot, honey, candied orange peel and sweet spices, complemented by delicate mature nuances that enhance its aromatic depth.
On the palate, it is rich, smooth and beautifully harmonious, with an appealing sweetness balanced by refreshing acidity, giving the wine elegance and excellent drinkability. The finish is long and persistent, with lingering notes of dried fruit, honey and subtle spices.
An excellent meditation wine, it pairs beautifully with traditional Tuscan dry pastries, especially cantucci and almond biscuits, as well as fruit tarts, nut-based desserts and mature or blue cheeses. It is equally enjoyable on its own at the end of a meal.
Its elegant presentation box, featuring a portrait of Giovanni da Verrazzano, celebrates the historic connection between the Castello and the family of the renowned explorer, making this bottle an especially distinguished choice for gifting or a fine wine collection.
