Tasting Notes
-
Color: A splendid, compact, and vibrant ruby red with exceptional luminosity—a true mirror of Sangiovese crafted with stylistic purity.
-
Nose: The bouquet is intense, highly elegant, and multifaceted. It opens with crisp red fruits (raspberry, cherry, and blackcurrant), followed by beautiful floral notes of dried violet. With aeration, deeper complexities unfold: pipe tobacco, rhubarb root, sweet spices (cloves, anise), balsamic touches, and the classic, unmistakable earthy and herbal undertone of the Chianti woodland (moss and fern).
-
Palate: On the palate, it impresses with its dynamic balance. The entry is juicy and fruit-forward, supported by a vibrant freshness and a dense, yet extraordinarily polished and silky tannic texture that is already perfectly integrated into the wine’s body. The finish is remarkably long, savory, and bone-dry, with a beautiful lingering trail of flowers and spice.
Potential & Food Pairings
Critical Acclaim: The 2022 vintage has received stellar ratings from major international critics, earning an exceptional 97/100 from Vinous (Antonio Galloni) and a 95/100 from James Suckling, who defines it as a true “stunner” for its precision and harmony.
-
Cellaring Potential: A wine with monumental longevity, capable of evolving beautifully in the cellar for over 12–15 years.
-
Food Pairings: Outstanding with premium, traditional Tuscan cuisine. It pairs perfectly with rich meat-sauce pastas, mushroom or sausage risottos, grilled red meats, roasted meats, and braised dishes (such as peposo or light game). It is also excellent alongside artisanal cured meats and medium-to-long-aged Pecorino cheeses.
