Description
Vermentino Belguardo 2024 by the Mazzei family, a benchmark for the Tuscan Maremma:
The Profile in Brief
This is a Vermentino with great personality that combines the energy of the Tuscan coast with an almost “Nordic” elegance. It stands out for its distinct marine savoriness and a deep sip, son of vineyards located between Grosseto and Montiano.
-
Olfactory Notes: Intense bouquet of yellow flowers, white peaches and lime zest, with a distinct finish of Mediterranean scrub and rosemary.
-
Taste: The palate is fresh, taut and mineral. It has a richer structure than the basic Vermentinos (thanks to the selected clone and terroir), with a savory finish that immediately invites a second sip.
-
Character: Sunny, dynamic and very clean.
Ideal pairing: Perfect with spaghetti with clams, fried paranza, vegetable dishes or as a classy aperitif.
Trivia: The 2024 confirms Belguardo’s vocation for this varietal, offering a wine that is not only “easy,” but also has the makings to hold up to more complex fish dishes.
