Description
Pomino Pinot Noir DOC – Frescobaldi
Pomino Pinot Noir by Frescobaldi is one of Italy’s most distinguished expressions of Pinot Noir, produced at the historic Pomino Estate in the Florentine mountains at elevations exceeding 500 meters above sea level. This unique terroir, characterized by a cool climate and significant day-to-night temperature variations, allows the grape variety to develop remarkable elegance, aromatic finesse, and exceptional balance.
In the glass, it displays a brilliant ruby-red color with subtle garnet reflections. The bouquet is refined and complex, offering aromas of rose, geranium, black cherry, and red berries, complemented by elegant spicy notes of cinnamon. Twelve months of aging in French oak barriques enrich the aromatic profile with nuances of cocoa, roasted coffee, and delicate balsamic hints.
On the palate, it is fresh, dry, and harmonious, with well-integrated tannins and a silky, refined texture. Its vibrant acidity provides energy and longevity, while the finish is long, juicy, and persistent, revealing lingering notes of ripe red fruits and sweet spices.
It pairs beautifully with roasted white meats, duck, porcini mushrooms, truffle-based dishes, feathered game, and medium-aged cheeses.
Rating: 93/100
A Pinot Noir of outstanding class that combines Burgundian elegance with the distinctive character of the Tuscan terroir, standing out for its complexity, balance, and aging potential.
