Description
Canneto Vino Nobile di Montepulciano 2019 is the epitome of balance and elegance. The 2019 is considered one of the best vintages of the last decade in Tuscany: a “classic” vintage, characterized by perfect temperature excursions that allowed slow and complete ripening.
The 2019 Canneto is a wine that shines with territorial precision, less muscular than the 2022, but deeper and more vertical.
Sensory Profile of the Reeds 2019
-
Color: A bright ruby red with a transparency typical of high hill Sangiovese (Canneto’s vineyards enjoy excellent western exposure).
-
Nose: It is very fine. It opens with crisp notes of red fruits (currant and raspberry) followed by a floral part of dried rose petals. Very clean tertiary notes of underbrush, herbs and a slight mineral trail emerge on the finish.
-
Palate: The structure is firm but slender. What is striking is the texture of the tannins, which are extremely dense and silky. The acidity is lively, making the sip long and very fresh.
Technical Details.
-
Grapes: Predominantly Sangiovese (Prugnolo Gentile) with small percentages of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon rounding out the edges.
-
Aging: 18 months in oak barrels (large and tonneaux) and at least 6 months in bottle.
-
Scores: A vintage that has garnered excellent critical acclaim (often ranging between 92 and 94 points in magazines such as Wine Spectator or James Suckling).

Pappardelle with hare.
-
Florentine steak (the 2019 sour shoulder perfectly cleanses the palate of meat fat).
