Unlike many neighbors that rely exclusively on Bordeaux varietals, Grattamacco proudly maintains a share of Sangiovese, giving the wine a tension and elegance unique to the appellation. <\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"1\">Here is the profile of the 2021 vintage:<\/p>\n<h3 data-path-to-node=\"2\">Organoleptic Profile<\/h3>\n<ul data-path-to-node=\"3\">\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"3,0,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"3,0,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Color:<\/b> Deep and bright ruby red.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"3,1,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"3,1,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Nose:<\/b> Extremely complex and refined. Opens with notes of <b data-path-to-node=\"3,1,0\" data-index-in-node=\"65\">small black fruits<\/b> (blueberry, currant) intertwined with hints of <b data-path-to-node=\"3,1,0\" data-index-in-node=\"128\">graphite, licorice root and tobacco.<\/b> A balsamic and mineral note typical of vineyards located on high ground stands out.  <\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"3,2,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"3,2,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Taste:<\/b> In the mouth it is a wine of great backbone and personality. The tannins are dense but very fine-grained. The presence of the Sangiovese provides a <b data-path-to-node=\"3,2,0\" data-index-in-node=\"143\">savory freshness<\/b> that perfectly balances the power of the Cabernet, leading to a long, elegant and vibrant finish.  <\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 data-path-to-node=\"4\">Technical Characteristics<\/h3>\n<ul data-path-to-node=\"5\">\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"5,0,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"5,0,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Grape varieties:<\/b> 65% <b data-path-to-node=\"5,0,0\" data-index-in-node=\"13\">Cabernet Sauvignon<\/b>, 20% <b data-path-to-node=\"5,0,0\" data-index-in-node=\"37\">Merlot<\/b>, 15% <b data-path-to-node=\"5,0,0\" data-index-in-node=\"49\">Sangiovese<\/b>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"5,1,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"5,1,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Vinification:<\/b> Fermentation in open truncated wooden vats, with spontaneous fermentation and manual punching down.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"5,2,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"5,2,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Aging:<\/b> Matures for about <b data-path-to-node=\"5,2,0\" data-index-in-node=\"30\">18 months in barriques<\/b> (only 50 percent of which are new) and rests for at least 12 months in bottle.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"5,3,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"5,3,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Territory:<\/b> The grapes come from one of the highest areas of Bolgheri (about 100-200 meters above sea level), which gives the wine a temperature range that results in superior aromatic finesse.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr data-path-to-node=\"6\">\n<h3 data-path-to-node=\"7\">In summary<\/h3>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"8\">Grattamacco 2021 is a Bolgheri of <b data-path-to-node=\"8\" data-index-in-node=\"37\">extraordinary intellectual tension<\/b>. It does not seek extreme softness, but focuses on a masterful balance between international structure and Tuscan vivacity.
